About University of Manchester

The University of Manchester is one of the 40 most international universities in the world. Many international students come to the exciting and welcoming city of Manchester to live and study at this institution. Its history dates back to 1824, with the founding of UMIST (the Institute of Science and Technology at the University of Manchester), which was later merged with the University of Victoria in Manchester to become the university student it is today.

Manchester is the UK’s largest single-campus university, offering a wide range of undergraduate programs and courses available. But what makes the University of Manchester truly special is the amazing graduate research that takes place on campus each year. The University of Manchester Library has some of the best resources in the country and is recognized as one of the world’s leading research libraries. Twenty-five Nobel Laureates have studied or worked at the University of Manchester and it was ranked his 35th best university in the world in the 2021 World University Academic Rankings. She was also ranked 9th in Europe and 5th in the UK.

Currently, the University of Manchester has over 40,000 of her students, of whom around 14,000 are international students. This represents more than a quarter of her student population and forms a diverse student community. International students have access to a wide range of student services during their studies at the University of Manchester, from enrollment to post-graduation (for example, we have a very strong alumni network).

Manchester is also a university with a very interesting future. Although it has a long history, it has never been stuck in the past. It was the first UK university to commit to social responsibility and has supported important global academic research for decades.

The University of Manchester is the perfect place for international students to learn and grow in traditional British student life while receiving a great education. The Oxford Road campus in the heart of the city has some of the best student facilities in England, the standard of education is very high and the city of Manchester offers many opportunities for after-school leisure for its students.
